Edward T. Martin ~ 05/31/15 ~ Sacred Matrix on Revolution Radio

ed_martin_1Hosts Janet Kira Lessin & Sasha Lessin, Ph. D. interview Edward T. Martin on the Sacred Matrix on Revolution Radio (www.freedomslips.com), Studio B on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 8 to 10 PM Eastern time.

Jesus’ Lost Years in India

Suppose the life of Jesus, the Nazarene Teacher, the Christ, was not what mainstream history and religion have taught us for nearly twenty centuries. Suppose that key aspects of the story of his life, death, and resurrection are very different and even more amazing than the versions we in the West have come to accept or perhaps doubt. Wouldn’t you be curious? And haven’t you ever wondered about all those mysterious, missing ‘lost’ years?

In this interview, author, explorer, and teacher, Edward T. Martin, reveals a narrative known and documented beginning nearly 2,000 years ago–the story of Jesus’s travels, studies, and teaching in India and surrounding regions, his survival of the crucifixion (many victims of crucifixion have been known to survive), and his miraculous, long life unknown to most people in the West. This is exciting, ground-breaking information!

Edward T. Martin had no inkling, growing up as a member of the Church of Christ in a small Texas town, that some day a seemingly simple Biblical question he had put to his Bible school teacher would re-shape his life and his future.  Not yet a teenager when the question first occurred to him, it was a shock to the Fundamentalist boy from Lampasas, Texas, that the teachers and elders of his church had no answer to the question of where Jesus was from ages twelve to thirty.  It seemed like a rather large amount of time to be left out of the Biblical accounts of his saviour’s life on earth.  The answer he received that “God doesn’t want us to know about that or it would have been in the Bible” was wholly unsatisfying.

The question stayed with him all the while he was studying for his Bachelor of Arts degree years later at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks.  There, he majored in Speech Communications with a minor in Secondary Education.  The question was still dogging him when he served in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan in the 1970’s and continued to nag at him throughout the late 1970’s and 1980’s, when he was a teacher of adult education in the Fiji Islands, in Saudi Arabia and then in Peshewar, Pakistan.  By the time he became a staff writer and photographer for the Dispatch newspaper in Lampasas, Texas, he had begun writing about the issue of Jesus’ Lost Years.  The mere suggestion that he made in one article, that Jesus might have spent part of the missing years in India, made him severely “out of step” with the prevailing Fundamentalist Christian thinking of his home town.  At that point, he learned what it was like to be something of an outcast among his own people, because the provincial townspeople considered Ed to be “out of touch with reality” for thinking that Jesus ever went to India.

Edward T. Martin joined the National Education Association and the Texas State Teachers Association.  His career as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL) was interrupted many times by the call of adventure.  Ed’s exploits as a traveler from Africa to Peru, and as a mountain climber, were written up in various newspapers.  And in all his travels, he always looked for writings and evidence about the Lost Years of Jesus.  He found interesting material in his Edgar Cayce study group, a group of students of the writings of America’s “Sleeping Prophet,” Edgar Cayce, who declared that Jesus was in India.  Then came his exposure to the writings of Aziz Kashmiri (CHRIST IN KASHMIR), Nicholas Notovitch (THE SECRET LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST), Levi Dowling (THE AQUARIAN GOSPEL), Elizabeth Clare Prophet (THE LOST YEARS OF JESUS), Holger Kersten (JESUS LIVED IN INDIA) and finally the Indian sage Paramahansa Yogananda (AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI).  All contributed to the case that Jesus lived in India.

King of Travelers Edward T Martin-51s5hDfE+0L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Ed Martin’s manuscript for his book KING OF TRAVELERS: JESUS’ LOST YEARS IN INDIA, became the first venture in 1999 for his enterprise called Jonah Publishing Company.  He published the book at personal sacrifice, selling his house in Texas to be able to undertake the research and travels necessary for the writing and to make the investment in publishing.  His meeting up with associate producer Robert Rotstan Jr. at a convention in 2003, and then Bob Rotstan’s introducing him to Paul Davids, led to their work together on the film JESUS IN INDIA.

Edward Thomas Martin is the younger son of Thomas Franklin Martin and Dorothy Cox Martin. His maternal grandmother was Martha Susan Chance. His great, great, grandfather was Joseph Bell Chance, whose wife was Nancy Braden Chance.

Ed was born at Lampasas, Texas, December 23, 1949. His father was also born at Lampasas in 1909. Ed’s paternal grandfather, Robert Martin, was the owner of the Lion Drug Store which was situated on the north side of the courthouse square in Lampasas. Ed’s parents owned and operated the Avenue Cleaners which was at 509 N. Key Avenue. It was in business about 38 years.

Ed’s mother, Dorothy, operated the business alone for three years during World War Two, while her husband Tommie served as a volunteer in the Army Air Force.

The family normally took a 4-6 week vacation every summer in the family car, traveling to many diverse parts of the U.S.A. The Western states were a favorite, especially places like the Grand Canyon, Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Ed and his father were very keen hunters and outdoorsmen. They always talked about driving together, some summer, to Alaska via the Alcan Highway. Sadly, Ed’s father had serious heart trouble when Ed was a teenager. Tommie died of a heart attack when Ed was 19.

The following summer, Ed decided to drive up to Alaska in the pickup/camper his father had given him. He found work fighting forest fires with the
Bureau of Land Management. He later became a student at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He graduated in May, 1973, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications.

Ed wanted to do some form of national service and joined the Peace Corps. He served as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL) in Afghanistan for one year. Next, he was a volunteer in the Fiji Islands for two years. After the Peace Corps, Ed taught ESL in Japan, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan (to refugees from the war in Afghanistan). Ed has traveled extensively in a total (so far) of 62 countries on six continents. He has done a fair amount of mountaineering and also archery.

Most of his adult life, Ed has worked as a teacher of ESL. He is fluent in Spanish and can speak, to some extent, a total of seven languages. He is the author of two books and was part of a movie based on his first book. More information can be seen at: www.jesus-in-india-the-movie.com  Currently, Ed is self-employed with his own business: Jonah Publishing.
